7 Tips to Help You Stop Snacking Mindlessly

• Are you thirsty? Drink a bottle of water first to see if you just need to quench your thirst
• Stop buying junk food and keeping it in your house or at your desk
• Don’t eat straight out of the container/bag/bowl. Measure out your portion
• Keep your fruit out where you can see it so when you’re hungry, it’s in your reach
• Don’t multi-task. When you’re eating, just focus on the food. Don’t watch TV or talk on the phone
• Stop snacking when you’re bored. Make a list of go-to boredom activities and stick to it
• Go to sleep early – late night snacking will derail all of your hard work!

On her beauty routine: I have no features without makeup. I am pale. I have blonde lashes. You could just paint my face—it’s like a blank canvas. It can be great for what I do. I can’t wax because bad things happen. So I shave. I use Eucerin Calming Body Wash instead of shaving cream, and I don’t get razor burn anymore. On playing Lois Lane: I’ve wanted to be in a superhero movie, and this was my best chance – as some mere mortal. Let’s be real here. I don’t look that good in Lycra. I do all right, but I hadn’t anticipated that I was ever going to be cast as the girl in Lycra looking hot.

• Eat a small snack one hour before your workout for energy but avoid anything heavy a few hours prior
• Stretch your diaphragm! Lift your hand up and bend to the opposite side, hold for 30 seconds and repeat
• Focus on deep breathing and always breathe through your mouth.
• Drink up – dehydration will more exercise even more challenging
• If all else fails, try a brisk walk until the pain subsides

According to Prevention, side stitches are a “cramp or spasm that’s caused by pressure from your diaphragm bouncing up and down as you run, hitting your liver.” Ouch!

1. Draw an idea map for your next project. Your coworkers may think you’re getting a little eccentric – but don’t worry, give it a try. Start with a single word in the center and work your way out.
2. Get up from your desk and get outside. Even if you work in an office park – get outside for twenty minutes or so. Walk around and breathe in some fresh air.
3. Watch a funny video. Give yourself five minutes to get totally lost in a funny video – it will get your mind off the project, giving you some time to be totally relaxed.
4. Spend an hour with a pile of magazines. Seriously. There’s nothing more helpful than seeing all the creative ideas that are out there already.
5. Sleep on it. I’m not suggesting you take a nap at work! Leave the project to the next day – go home, get a good night’s sleep and start fresh.

There’s nothing not to love about this – the hula hoop workout is super fun, melts belly fat and gets your heart pumping. Here’s a few key tips for learning how to hula hoop and be on your way to burning calories and losing inches.

Summer Workout: Hula Hooping for Weight Loss

• Start with the basics. Just like anything, get the basic moves down before attempting an advanced workout.
• Get your own, adult-sized hoop. You want to go for one that weighs 1-2lbs and is about 40 inches around.
• First-step is learning the forward stance. Standing inside the hoop, square your shoulders, tuck your pelvis and put one foot forward. Then, try spinning the hoop around your waist. Keep the hoop going by moving your hips forward and backward.
• To use some different muscles, try a side stance. With your feet a little wider than shoulder-width apart, try spinning the hoop. This time, swing your hips from side to side to keep the hoop going.
• Once you get these down – try adding a walk. Spin the hoop while you’re in the forward stance and try adding a step forward each time the hoop goes around. Keep your abs tight! (If this comes easy, try walking to the side!)
