Demi Lovato Talks Candidly About Nude Photo Shoot with Vanity Fair

If you haven’t seen the stunning photos Vanity Fair released in early October featuring Demi Lovato, you’re missing out. Lovato not only posed nude for the shoot, but she wore no makeup and the photos are completely un-retouched. No Photoshop, no filters – just the real Demi. It’s incredible and the photos are gorgeous. In a recent interview with E! News, Lovato spoke openly about the driving force behind the photo shoot, what is was like and how she feels about it today. Here are a few highlights and for the full interview, click here.

“There was never a time in my career where I was completely stripped down, not just of makeup and not just of clothes, but no Photoshop either. We live in a world where everything is touched up, even pictures that people post on Instagram now. So I wanted to put it out there, the opposite of what people are kind of expecting from me right now.” (via E! News)

Lovato continued to share both her spiritual and body image transformation that she’s experienced over the last six months and about launching her new album, Confident.

“How do I embrace this new chapter in my life? How do I really walk the walk? What does it mean to be confident? It means letting go, being authentic, saying I don’t give a f–k and this is who I am. I want to show the side of me that’s real, that’s liberated, that’s free.” (via E! News)

Hearing Demi talk about the where she is today versus years past is both inspiring and pretty amazing – she has clearly worked through some lingering body issues, taken control of her self-confidence and is leading her life in a way that makes her feel good and proud – and, as a by product, she looks better than ever.

“I wanted to show people that with this album, I wanted to make a statement, and I want that statement to be empowering towards women. And I want to inspire other women. For someone who’s had body image issues since they were a child, I went from hating every inch of my body to showing every inch of my body to the entire world and without touching up anything. I wouldn’t have done that six months ago, because I didn’t have the confidence that I do today.” (via E! News)
