Must-Watch: The Top Netflix Originals of 2016

The Top Netflix Originals of 2016

It’s been so cold out that—let’s keep it real—no one wants to do anything. With vacation coming up for so many people, I’m guessing there will be a lot of Netflix and Chill going on. You might get overwhelmed with all the options available on Netflix, so I want to put a few of their Original series and films on your radar.

I know I’ve raved about a few in the past including Fuller House, Orange is the New Black, and House of the Cards. But here are a whole new batch for your viewing pleasure.

The Top Netflix Originals of 2016

#1. Narcos– This series hardly needs extra promotion because it’s so popular, but if you didn’t catch the first two seasons that focus on the rise and fall of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, get to it. Season 3 is headed in a whole new direction and you don’t want to be left behind. The cast is already on location in Cali blowing things up!

#2. Sense8– Imagine eight strangers from all over the world who are mentally and emotionally connected. After the they all get a vision of the death of a woman named Angelica, they discover they are sensates. Season two won’t return until May 5, but Netflix will feature a 2-hour Christmas Special airing on December 23.

#3. Grace and Frankie– There aren’t enough shows featuring women of a certain age that tackle love, lust, and lost as honestly as Grace and Frankie. The series tells the story of two women, played by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, who team up to take on the world after their respective husbands admit they’ve been in love with one another. It’s a very honest show that women of most ages will enjoy.

#4. Stranger Things– Winona Ryder is back and in a major way! Stranger Things was the biggest hit of the summer and just such a fun watch. It’s billed as a horror but it’s not really all that scary as much as it is a fantasy thriller. Yes, Ryder is the big star and she’s awesome in it. But it’s the kids including Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin caught the attention of the masses.

#5. Flaked– If you love Will Arnett and the smug jerks he plays on television, you’ll love his character Chip in the dark comedy Flaked. Chip has you convinced that you know all about him up until the very end. Plus the view of Venice Beach are spectacular.
