How to Throw the Perfect Graduation Party

#1. Make a guest list.

Think about how many people you would like to invite. There is nothing worse than being over capacity at a rented venue or worse your own home. Have a sizeable crowd is great for creating the perfect party atmosphere so find a suitable range to settle on.

#2. Choose your venue.

One of the most significant decisions will be whether or not you want to shell out big bucks for an impressive location or decide to party in the comfort of your own home. Either way, you can still throw a fabulous party!

#3. Hire a DJ.

Music sets the tone of the party so choose wisely. If you are interested in an all-out dance party, a DJ is a great touch. The DJ will have the hottest songs at his disposal from chart-topping hip-hop, R&B, and pop music to keep the party going all night long. If you’re opting for a more intimate party creating a custom playlist will do the trick, and you can also get song request from your guests.

#4.  Send out invitations.

Sending out invites around a month or two before your party is a great way to secure your date without any headaches. Weekends are typically high in demand for graduation parties so getting your invites out in advance will be best.

#5. Offer a wide range of food options.

Graduation parties often have a lot of back and forth with partygoers dancing and having a great time. Offering favorite appetizers and finger foods like macaroni and cheese bites, wings, fruit platters, sliders and more will give you no-fuss options that your guests will love.

#6. Set the stage.

Set a memorable ambience with years of memorabilia from your school days with fun photos and graduation pictures. Set up a table for a well wishes jar or guestbook so that everyone can leave you messages.

#7. Create the perfect lighting.

Lighting helps to set the mood and allows for your guests to take tons of pictures to remember the occasion. Depending on your venue choice, play around with letter lights, garden lighting, glow sticks, LED lights and more to keep the party going.
