Famously Single's Ronnie Magro-Ortiz Talks Love After Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola

The second season of “Famously Single” is about to kick-off on July 9th at 10pm on E! and Ronnie Magro-Ortiz is ready to find love outside of the Jersey Shore. News has already spread about his brief love affair with Malika Haqq, but the real question is whether or not he is over former flame Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola? Former “Jersey Shore” castmates reunited in early March for Giancola’s birthday celebration and Magro-Ortiz was nowhere to be found.

“I wasn’t even in town. I live in L.A.,” Magro-Ortiz said. “I wasn’t going to fly all the way home. They’re all on the east coast so it’s easier for them to get together. You’ll see pictures of me and Paulie probably coming up from Vegas. I see him the most from everybody.”

And even though an early promo for the E! series shows Magro-Ortiz dwelling on his former relationship, in December it was confirmed he was dating co-star and Kardashian bff Haqq. Although the bachelor admits the duo is no longer together, they formed a friendship that continues till today.

“We had an automatic bond and connection,” Magro-Ortiz explained about his relationship with Haqq. “It was almost like a friendship in a way, in the beginning. We just happen to be attractive people! We had a bond and we understood each other’s jokes. That’s hard to find.

That’s the whole point of going on the show, was to find something like that. [We’re not together], but we’re still friends. The show was filmed within two weeks so you’ll see how everything is jammed together.”

The cast was not left alone on their journey to love and happiness. They’ll live under the guidance of Dr. Darcy Sterling, who is there to help them look inward for answers.

“What I’ve learned about myself is that I need to appreciate things more in life. I think that was my struggle. You’ll see my sessions with Dr. Darcy on the show where I let go of a lot of stuff that I’ve been keeping in for a long time. Also, my problem is that I can find [women], but I just don’t know how to make them want to stay around! [laughs] After like a week I’m like alright, don’t you have to go soon? Times up!”

Magro-Ortiz and Haaq aren’t the only ones looking for love during the second season of the reality dating show. They will be joined by “The Bachelorette” bad boy Chad Johnson, “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” star Dorothy Wang, “Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer Karina Smirnoff, fitness model David McIntosh, British actor Calum Best, and “I Love New York” star Tiffany Pollard.

Even though you know things don’t work out for Magro and Haaq, it’s all about the journey. Tune in Sunday nights for all new episodes of “Famously Single.”
