Apple fans, start saving up your money because there are a lot of new gadgets getting ready to hit the market that you’ll want to add to your artillery. Gadget fans in general should really take note because this is the perfect time to make the switch if you’ve been considering an OS change.
Apple Announces New iPhone Offerings and Other Gadgets
I’m going to break down the biggest changes coming to the iPhone, including a special anniversary edition, as well as the Apple Watch.
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
The new generation of iPhones known as 8 and 8 Plus will hit the market on September 22. The new iPhones will feature a new glass and aluminum design in three beautiful colors made out of the most durable glass ever in a smartphone, Retina HD displays and A11 Bionic chip, and is designed for the ultimate augmented reality experience. The world’s most popular camera gets even better with single and dual cameras featuring Portrait Lighting on iPhone 8 Plus, and wireless charging brings a powerful new capability to iPhone.
If video is important to you, the new camera also delivers the highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone with better video stabilization, 4K video up to 60fps and 1080p slo-mo up to 240fps.
My favorite feature is wireless charging! Forget about all those cables you had to buy in the past that would break so easily. They also didn’t reinvent the wheel when adding this feature. Wireless charging will work with the established Qi ecosystem.
Pre-Orders begin on September 15 for both of these phones. Both models will be available in space gray, silver and an all-new gold finish in increased 64GB and 256GB capacity models starting at $699.
iPhone X
Apple is calling their iPhone X the future of the smartphone but you don’t have to wait forever to own it. The phone will feature an all-glass design with a beautiful 5.8-inch Super Retina display, A11 Bionic chip, wireless charging and an improved rear camera with dual optical image stabilization. It delivers an innovative and secure new way for customers to unlock, authenticate and pay using Face ID, enabled by the new TrueDepth camera.
“For more than a decade, our intention has been to create an iPhone that is all display. The iPhone X is the realization of that vision,” said Jony Ive, Apple’s chief design officer. “With the introduction of iPhone ten years ago, we revolutionized the mobile phone with Multi-Touch. iPhone X marks a new era for iPhone — one in which the device disappears into the experience.”
The iPhone X will be available to pre-order on October 27 and has been given a November 3rd release date. Prices for this model start at $999.
Apple Watch Series 3
For those of you who waited to invest in a smartwatch, the time is now! Not only does it have some amazing new Health features, but Apple has now built-in cellular so you don’t have to have your phone when you at all times! Hello to my runners or fitness aficionados who no longer need to have their big phones during their workouts.
Other features include water resistance 50 meters and a new barometric altimeter that measures relative elevation. And thanks to the cellular function, Apple Music users will be able to stream 40 million songs right from their wrist.
Users will also have an updated Heart Rate app, giving even more insight to heart rate, including measurements during resting, workout, recovery, walking and Breathe sessions. Customers can also choose to receive a notification when their heart rate is elevated above a specific threshold while inactive.
With GymKit, users will soon enjoy the ability to connect to their favorite cardio equipment and experience two-way synchronization of data with just a tap, resulting in the most accurate information possible.
Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) starts at $399 and Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) starts at $329. Both models are available in stores starting Friday, September 22.
