5 Things That Are Weighing You Down

Do you ever feel like you have too much on your mind? Like you can’t clear your thoughts enough to just be in the moment and enjoy space and time. Sometimes we get weighted down by our own thoughts – things and worries add up until we’re dragging and, that’s when you know it’s time to let go. When your mind feels overloaded and you find yourself lost in your thoughts – it’s time to redirect your energy and get back to focusing on the here and now. Not sure how? Here’s a look at what could be weighting you down and how to turn it around for the better.

5 Things That Are Weighing You Down

#1. You worry about wasting time. Here’s the thing: sometimes wasting time is actually the best thing you can do for yourself. Spending a morning staring at the sky and simply watching the clouds roll by may sound like wasted time to some, but really it’s the most relaxing and mind clearing thing you can do for yourself. Don’t feel bad about these moments and regret nothing – you can’t go back in time so just keep moving forward.

#2. You dwell on past relationships that didn’t end well. Why dwell on the past rather than look toward the future? Certain things in life, including relationships, aren’t going to be for the best – they just aren’t. Sometimes you have to take a deep breath and move on. It might feel tough, but let it go. Open your heart to new and better relationships.

#3. Fear of what you’re not doing. When you’re afraid to leap into something new, it can be so limiting to your development as a person – so why be afraid? You have to try new things to become better, smarter, more worldly and fear is the last thing that should be holding you back. So just go for it – whatever that new thing is. Try it. You won’t regret it.

#4. You have guilt about the way you’re living. Let’s say you really need to make a change – for example, it’s high time you get healthy, but you’re not making the effort. You continue to choose the unhealthy path and each time you do, you feel worse about it. You can’t let your lifestyle drag you down – when you know it’s time for the change, just make it or give it a whole hearted try. Yes You Can.

#5. You’re letting the negativity of others drag you down. Not everyone can see the world through rose colored glasses as you do and sometimes you simply have to ignore the negativity. Most of the time it stems from something that person isn’t happy about within him or herself – and he or she is the only one who can fix that. You don’t have to be on that bandwagon and you definitely don’t have to let that person drag you down. Walk away. Do your own thing. And, simply be you.

Do you have thoughts and behaviors dragging you down? What will be your first step toward making a change and letting it go to focus on the here and now?
