October 9th, 2017

Oh Mylanta! Netflix isn’t the only streaming service that brings you classic television shows from the 1990’s to binge a la 2017. Hulu has just updated their library to include many hits from a much simpler time when Uncle Jesse owned more hair products than any male or female you knew in real life on “Full House.” So what shows should you add to your watching queue immediately?

    1. Perfect Strangers– Cousin Larry Appleton (Mark-Linn Baker) welcomes his long lost cousin Balki Bartokomous (Bronson Pinchot) from Mypos into his life and his apartment. You must remember this series, it’s the one where they duo do the Dance of Joy! The series lasted for eight seasons and they’re all currently available on Hulu.
    2. Family Matters– Here’s a fun fact you may not even know! The series “Family Matters” was a spinoff of “Perfect Strangers.” The series followed the Winslow family, a middle-class African American family living in Chicago, with an annoying next door neighbor named Steve Urkel (Jaleel White). Watch all 215 episodes on Hulu and keep your eyes peeled for Steve’s alter ego Stefan.
    3. Full House– Yes, Netflix has the new series “Fuller House” which follows the younger Tanner kids during the present day. But for 90’s kids, “Full House” was a time where kids all over the U.S. watched as D.J., her sister Stephanie and baby sister Michelle grew up before their eyes. Their first loves, their first jobs and multiple “How Rude’s.” Watch again for the first time, then secretly switch to Netflix to see the sequel.

    1. The Golden Girls– If you aren’t aware that Hulu has the streaming rights to air The Golden Girls, you truly belong in Shady Pines. Follow along as Dorothy (Bea Arthur), Blanche (Rue McClanahan), Rose (Betty White) and Sofia (Estelle Getty) navigate through the imaginary streets of Miami for seven seasons. They discuss so many topics that are still relevant today like ageism, homosexuality and immigration. Thank you for being a friend.
    2. Step by Step– Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Somers starred as single parents who spontaneously get married after meeting one another during a vacation, resulting in them becoming the heads of a large blended family. Things didn’t always flow perfectly after combining his three kids with her three kids but it surely brought a lot of hilarity. All seven seasons are available on Hulu.
