Out of Bounds: Loren Ridinger Speaks at MAWC 2017
February 13th, 2017
Comfort zones are a dangerous thing. If you find yourself in one right now, all I can do is urge you to get out. Today, I had the opportunity to talk to thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs about stepping out of the proverbial box and perpetuating true change. I hope you were one of them. If you missed my presentation, here it is. I truly hope it resonates with you and inspires you to step out of that dangerous comfort zone. Nothing great ever came from being in one.
Out of Bounds: Loren Ridinger Speaks at MAWC 2017
We forget we are in a comfort zone. We are trapped in a box that society created and all of a sudden we believe it.
While they gave you that blueprint for the American dream they forgot to tell you to dream.
When you’re little, you dream a lot. You could be anything you want. You’d dream about anything. But you lost it when you went to school, and got those student loans, and all of a sudden you were working for someone else’s dream instead of your own.
We get so trapped in a comfort zone that we don’t know our way out.
Everybody you know is trapped in the same situation and they’d don’t want you to leave because they’d be alone and miserable inside the box.
You don’t have to be the best or the fastest, you just need to start and do the work and then you’ll become the best.
I didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in my mouth. I grew up in a family with four of us, an amazing mother and a great father. But it took him a long time to be great. You don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow, you don’t know when time is calling. You have to do it now.
My mother always said about JR, “Loren, you may not see it now but he’s going to be the solution for thousands of people.”
So today, say to yourself, “I need to provide for my family by achieving my dream.”
You have to change your thinking. You have to decide to step out of the comfort zone. Once you decide, you can get out.
It doesn’t matter when you decide to change, you just have to make the decision.
Have you become the person that other people want you to be? Or are you living the dreams you wanted for yourself?
I’ve lived it, I’ve seen it, I know what it’s like to struggle. I know what it’s like to have chaos. But look at me now.
We live in a society of crutches. We mask all of our problems instead of filling our minds with knowledge. Once these crutches are inside of you it’s hard to get out. Don’t let anyone control your thoughts.
The only person who controls your life is you. I want you to live to be controlled by your own thoughts.
Imagination is much more powerful than knowledge. If you’re dreaming and thinking about it you can do it.
Guilt will kill you. It can suffocate you. You have to forgive yourself. If you don’t release that guilt, you will suffer for the rest of your life.
Forgive yourself and forgive others. Sometimes the person who is hurting you is also holding you back.
Do something to get out of it.
Don’t be afraid your life will end. Be afraid it will never begin.
Don’t let time eat your life away. It doesn’t stop..It’s the only thing you can’t control.
Stop looking for validation from other people. Establish that you are enough. You are more than enough and nobody needs to hold you down and hurt you. That is not what life is supposed to be about.
Everything you’ve ever wanted is one single step outside of your comfort zone.
In order to use our heads we have to go out of our minds.
Your life won’t get better by chance, it will only get better change.
Not only is it possible for you to choose your future, it’s necessary.
JR says “The money is just a scoreboard. The process before success is where the real miracle happens.”
People who don’t put their dreams first work for someone else who will hire them to work on theirs.
When you’re torn between your heart and your head, go with your heart.
You will have some pain. It will be work. But working for yourself is easier than anything else.
The chase is better than the catch. The work is in the process.
Break free from the rope that binds you. Right now if you’re not where you want to be it’s your fault. You are a product of the choices you have made.
Stop procrastinating. This is the only moment you have. You do not need to be controlled by the first half of your life. Take control of the second half. All you have to do is take one step out of the box.
The only way to control your destiny is to control your time.
An excuse is a reason to look in the mirror and say “I hate my life, I’m not willing to try, and I’m not going to do a thing about it.” Don’t let your ego get in the way of your dreams. Or you will die the exact same way.
When your why is big enough you’ll find your how.
Your why is what gets you out of bed every single day. If you don’t know your why you can’t survive.
I love silence because that’s where the answers are.
If you want to change something you have to be willing to be uncomfortable.
Things will get worse before they get better. But they will get better if you’re moving in the right direction.
We protect our ego with the excuse of time. There will never be a perfect time.
Key to success will be different for everyone but the key to failure will always be not stepping out of your comfort zone.
When you’re at your lowest look to your highest.
I want you to live your dreams. What if the change you’re avoiding is the one that can give you wings?
