3 Tips To Get You Back On Track
Can you believe we finished half of the year already? I definitely didn’t predict that I would be staying home for several months when we started 2020. Sometimes our perfect plans are quickly disrupted and we are forced to pivot. Change shouldn’t be negative. It’s all about changing your perspective and moving forward.
At the beginning of every year it has become customary to write down my goals both personally and professionally. Sometimes people are so focused in their careers that they neglect growing in other areas of their life. It’s so important to set time for YOU and to work on self-growth. It’s also okay to not hit the goals you may have set at the beginning of this year. We are living in unprecedented times and this experience has taught me to pause. Let’s pause, reflect and recharge for a positive second-half of the year.
#1 Revisit Original Goals
Take a look at the goals you wrote down at the beginning of 2020 and ask yourself, “Is this aligned to my goals TODAY?” Planning a year out can be effective but sometimes not realistic for certain goals. It’s ok to make new plans and goals!
#2 Identify What Brings You Joy
This may sound odd but sometimes we commit to things that don’t truly make us happy. What has brought you joy these last 6 months? Start with integrating those joyful moments more frequently into your day to day and you’ll be on the track to a happier life. It’s proven that if you live your life with a positive mindset, you’ll accomplish more.
#3 Establish Monthly Check-Ins
I like to set time with myself to ensure I continue to reflect and carve out “me time.” You do what is right for you! You can do a solo yoga class, try a new recipe, enjoy a relaxing bath, etc.
My takeaway from this experience these last few months is it’s okay to not be okay. It’s okay to change your grand plan. It’s okay to start a new routine or healthy habit. Investing in ourselves is literally priceless and our health is so important. Here are some of my essential products to keep my mind, body and soul in check.
