Anna Wintour has been defining the voice of American Vogue for as long as I can remember. As the editor-and-cheif, it's no secret that that she's a powerhouse of a woman and fashion insider. As the woman who defined American fashion for the past few decades, she knows the industry better than anyone else. That's why we should all take a moment to take some style cues from her. In an article on WhoWhatWear that has chronicled many of the editor's quotes on fashion do's and don't's, I learned there's a lot that Anna Winter can't stand—including the color black of all things!. For more of Anna's fashion rules, read on!
Anna Wintour's Style Rules
Anna is big on classic pieces. According to her, “Trends is a dirty word,” so if you're going to follow Anna's rules, you've got to aim for timeless pieces that will become staples in your closet.
Black is not an option for Wintour. If you watched The September Issue, then you know that she can't stand it. Instead go for pieces with color. Don't be afraid to experiment.
"London is always full of imagination and creativity and young designers that lead the way," according to Wintour, and I can't help but agree. So unique!
Finally, the editor also loves mules and Gucci: "[For] the words we keep hearing about—joy and optimism—I really give a lot of credit to Alessandro Michele for being so bold and brilliant with his reset at Gucci."- via
As for her love of mules, "That was the one item that I noticed every single model [at Dolce & Gabbana S/S 17] wanted, and I certainly want it."
