Monday Motivation: How to Do What You Love for a Living

how to do what you love

"If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." - Marc Anthony.

#1. Activate soul searching.

Spend time thinking deeply about what things and activities bring you the most enjoyment. Once you have a list of things you love, you can research which careers would be a good fit.

#2. Focus your time on making it happen.

Once you have a strong sense of which of your passions is the best fit to mold into a career, invest the time in planning and executing the necessary steps to turn your dreams into your reality. Schedule each action you need to complete in your calendar so that you have a set timeline to work with to keep you on track.

#3. Work out how to profit from your passion.

To turn what you love into a business, you have first to determine how you will make money from it. Look at your business idea from every angle - find a problem your business will solve for your customers. For example, if your passion is travel, you could become a travel blogger, a travel influencer, a travel consultancy or travel agent.

#4. Surround yourself with positive energy.

Seek support from established business owners who can share wisdom on the typical business startup mistakes to avoid. Detach from negative and unsupportive acquaintances, instead opting to spend time around those who inspire and support you.

#5. The best time to act is now.

If you wait for the 'perfect time' to start your business or make your career switch, you could be waiting for the rest of your life. The best time to act is now.

#6. Be strategic.

If your passion happens to revolve around an industry you have no experience in, consider applying for a job in your chosen field to grow your experience and knowledge.
