Do you ever compare yourself to others? You compare your body, your face, your love life, your living situation, your career, etc. It’s easy to fall into that trap – where you’re consistently watching everyone around you and wishing your life was more like theirs. But here’s the thing: the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and you never know the full story. It’s just the way it is. When you start comparing yourself to others, you’re taking your successes and de-valuing them – and, why go down that path? I know it happens. We all do it from time to time – it’s human nature! But rather than feeling like you need to compare yourself to others, let’s take a look at why you don’t.
Why You Don’t Need to Compare Yourself to Other People
Comparing yourself to others will only bring you down. If you want the fastest road to not feeling good about yourself, comparison is the way to get there. You are your kind of wonderful – celebrate that. Forget who’s around you and focus on you and everything you’ve accomplished and should be proud of. THAT will make you feel good.
Comparing yourself to others will slow you down. You’re rocking and rolling right now, and that’s something to be proud of. Take your life, grab all the opportunities and go! You got this thing, and no one is going to stop you, so don’t let self-doubt be the thing that slows you down. Hold your head high and don’t look back – and, that means stop looking at what everyone else is doing and focus on one thing: YOU.
The grass isn’t always greener. Things may look good or better everywhere else, but here’s the thing: they’re not. You have no idea what goes on behind closed doors and that means you don’t know the full scoop when it comes to the struggles of others. Remember that your own story is the most important story you have to tell and it’s up to you to make the best of it and shape it – no one else and no one else’s story can get that done for you.
There’s always going to be competition out there. If there weren’t any competition, we’d all be bored. You’re going to come across people who are more successful, make more money, have more responsibility, live in a bigger house. The list can go on, and on. That’s just part of life. It gives us all something to strive for and keeps us on our toes. So rather than comparing, just shoot for the stars or your version of the stars. And, go!
What do you think? Can you stop comparing yourself to others and start focusing 100% on you?
