Party Season: How Alcohol Affects Your Face
It's all fun and games when you're dancing the night away with friends, but not so much the morning after when you wake up feeling frightful after one too many. Here are all the ways alcohol affects your face and how to help minimize these tell-tale signs this party season.
Puffy eyes are the most common side-effect of alcohol. Apply a cold eye mask for ten minutes, slices of cucumber or cold pre-brewed green tea bags over eyes to help reduce puffiness. Follow with a caffeine solution to tackle any lingering puffiness and dark circles, before applying a rich eye cream to hydrate the delicate eye area.
Many people find their skin turns a noticeable shade of red after drinking. Opt for a calming face mask to hydrate your skin and reduce redness.
Most of the horrible hangover feels are thanks to dehydration. Leave a pint of water by your bed to remind yourself to drink as much as possible before you go to bed to alleviate some of the hangover symptoms when you wake up the next morning. The following day, warm water and lemon will help flush out your system and rehydrate your body. Coconut water is great to replenish your body with electrolytes.
4. Bloodshot Eyes
Over-the-counter anti-redness eye drops can help relieve dry, tired eyes and eliminate redness.
