“It’s supposed to hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great" ~Tom Hanks

Tom Hanks has a point in this quote. The best things in life ARE worth fighting for and they certainly don’t come easy. Whether you’re starting your own business or striving for that top position in your company, you realize that following your dreams takes determination and courage.

In her new book, Emotional Freedom, Dr. Judith Orloff presents a revolutionary way to face the difficult emotions that can, and often do, wreak havoc on our daily lives. Picture yourself stuck in a traffic jam but feeling utterly calm; or listening to a supervisor’s rant and feeling compassionate rather than upset; or being peaceful instead of worrying. This is what it feels like when you’ve achieved emotional freedom and Dr. Orloff provides practical tools, exercises, and self-care techniques drawn from the fields of biology, intuitive medicine, and traditional psychology to help readers achieve it. She offers a four-pronged approach for transforming each of the seven most difficult emotions—fear, frustration, loneliness, anxiety, depression, jealousy, and anger—to create a positive life-affirming outlook, no matter what you face. She provides action steps to:

- Reprogram your biology to respond in a different way

- Uncover the spiritual meaning of your emotions

- Change the energetic power and effects of the emotion

- Explore the emotion from a psychological perspective

Dr. Orloff shows us how to face emotions head-on and explains why doing so yields profound lessons and rewards. What’s new and different here is the practical, results-oriented nature of Dr. Orloff’s approach, and the powerful connection she makes between emotional health and physical wellness. Below are some of the lessons discussed in the book. Enjoy the sneak peek!

It's just launched just revealed their stats for Valentine's Day Myths.  If men get a bad rap for lacking romance and imagination on Valentine’s Day, it’s not because they shy away from Cupid by nature, an It’s Just Lunch 2011 Dating Trends survey suggests. Asked about their No. 1 priority in 2011, 42 percent of male respondents said finding a compatible mate tops their list. That’s significantly higher than the percentage who ranked career as their top priority, suggesting men might work at least as hard building relationships as they do building résumés. Though men seek compatible matches and are open to love, they seem to think Cupid will do all the work. Nearly 35 percent said they spend zero hours per week — or no time whatsoever — looking for dates, according to the survey.

At this time of the year, you’ve probably already thought about trying some sort of detox. From celebs to your co-worker, everyone seems to have tried one kind of detox program. But do you really know what it is? Is it really worth it?

It’s important to do your research first. After all, fasting and extreme detoxing aren’t really effective for pound-shedding—and it can even be dangerous. If you’re looking to drop some pounds, you’ll need to make a lifestyle change and not just starve yourself for a few days. A healthy and conscious detox is really used to get those toxins out of our body and give our digestive system a rest from all the hard work it goes through to digest all the foods we put in it.
