Starting a new business can be an exciting time in your life! Becoming an entrepreneur, your own boss and following your passion is a fulfilling feeling but it can also be confusing and scary, especially in the early stages for business owners just starting out. To simplify starting your own business, here are five tips and advice for new business owners:

1. Business Plan. Anyone who's ever taken a business course has heard about the business plan. This is a document that contains the concept, the type of business, your role in the business, the team you will have, the financial estimates/startup capital and a time period for each goal you would like to hit. Writing down a business plan helps explain the new business to potential investors and team members and holds yourself accountable.

When you have a business or if you are a performer it's easy to get stuck in a rut! You try, try and try so hard, but nothing seems to work! So many artists, musicians, business owners among others have had businesses that somehow someway failed at least once or twice. Does this mean because someone closes the door on your it's time to quit? Never! When something doesn't work don't quit, instead, reinvent yourself, adapt to change. Don't let go of your idea, instead, modify it, jazz it up, give it a makeover. If something doesn't work than reinvent it and make it work!

Watch this video of Lady Gaga as Stefani Germanotta playing at a small venue in Los Angeles few years ago before she became Lady GAGA the "phenomenon." Did you know Lady GAGA was dropped from Def Jam records because they thought she had no potential. Did you know prior to Lady GAGA hitting stardom she used to tour in small bars in LA and NYC and used to go by the name Stefani Germanotta band. It's never too late to reinvent yourself nor you are never too old to stop trying! One person's loss maybe someone else's win!

Bethenny Frankel topped Forbes #55 stars on the Forbes Top 100 most powerful celebrities issues available now. Bethenny has come a long way since her days at her 720sq ft Beverly Hills apartment or as she states, " It wasn't until two years ago I made more than my assistant." Bethenny now joins a group of successful celebrity power women earning $55 years after she sold her "Skinny Girl" Margarita for a whopping $120 million.

Forbes states Bethenny "represents a new breed of media-savvy entrepreneurs, who see reality television not as an outlet to feed their narcissism, but as airtime to promote their products." Bethenny admits, "What's the point of being on TV if you don't have something to sell?"

Bethenny reveals her goal is to turn the Skinnygirl empire into a billion-dollar business. In addition to selling her Skinnygirl drink line, she also has a number of other "Skinnygirl" products in the works. And despite selling the drink line, Bethenny still retains the rights to use Skinnygirl for anything she wishes.

Bethenny is an amazing example of hard work, perseverance, determination and passion. From her days with at The Apprentice, Martha Stewart to Bravo's Real Housewives of New York Bethenny proves to us women that anything and everything is possible if you have passion and determination. Success doesn't grow overnight and sometimes we need to reinvent our image and strategy in order to succeed. Just like Bethenny tried multiple business ventures, she never gave, she kept pushing and working hard.

Standing out from the crowd

Growing up, we try to do anything in our power to fit in. But as we get older, we realize the things that make us different are ultimately the things that will make us money and popular. Today, I want to remind you to embrace what makes you different. Even use those idiosyncrasies to your advantage.

Think back to all the people you admire. Why do you admire them? Most probably, because these posses a trait you do not have. We tend to gravitate towards things that we, ourselves, do not have at the moment.
