  • "You become what you think about all the time"

“What is your greatest weakness?” is one of the toughest questions to answer, but it’s one you’ll encounter many times throughout your career. Knowing our weaknesses and working on them is as important as knowing our strengths, maybe even more important. This is also a common job interview question for a good reason; both employers and employees need to feel sure they have strong employees and good support driving them forward. Here are a couple of ways to think about the question of weaknesses and strive to overcome it!

--How to answer it: If you’re asked this question in a job interview, I know a lot of women will be critical of ourselves. Many people will tell you to spin it to highlight a strength like saying “I’m a perfectionist” but I say be even more specific than that and highlight something you know will be an asset to that particular organization. If you’re trying to work for a high-powered entrepreneur, tell them you’re sometimes too ambitious—any founder will respect that!

There are certain people in this world who have an insatiable desire to become all that they dare to be. They dedicate their lives to fulfilling purpose, seeking to evolve, manifesting all that they can think of. Their commitment is to win and to defeat failure at all costs. Yes, they experience hardship and sacrifice, but rather than see these things as obstacles they proudly wear them as badges of honor. These special individuals inspire us to believe. They help us to examine our own fight for our dreams and help us to believe that it is possible to accomplish whatever we so desire. They serve as ambassadors to manifest visions. Dream Chasers is what they are. Meet Milly Almodovar, she is no ordinary blogger of beauty. Her story will inspire you to see the beauty of your potential and empower you to trust your gut to not only chase but to conqueror your dreams. Before becoming a blogger, you worked in finance and then pursued a career in reporting in New York City.

What encouraged your shift from reporter to full time blogger? I left finance to pursue reporting but after working behind the scenes in news for three years, I found myself kind of overwhelmed and a little depressed. I'm naturally a happy person, so to go to work, and hear nothing but talk of rapes, and murders, after a while, it was more than I could handle. I started my blog while still working in the news, and I noticed how much I looked forward to blogging. I offered life advice as well as beauty recommendations and reviews. I knew I found my calling when I got emails from girls telling me posts I had written about not comparing yourself or about always taking care of yourself, had changed their lives. That's when I knew this might be my something!

I wanted to share this interview I did with I-Ella.com it's about how I got started in the business and my fashion addictions! Hope you enjoy it.

I-ELLA: You work in so many different fields, have you always been so entrepreneurial?

LOREN RIDINGER: Yes, always, I’m always thinking about what I’m doing next, always thinking about next year. I married an entrepreneur, so it was very natural for me.

I-ELLA: Tell us how you got started in your career.

LOREN RIDINGER: My husband and I started Market America 20 years ago, before anyone was even thinking about the internet, and now we’re #50 of all the shopping websites, and needless to say there are a lot of them. We feature our own Market America brands, and many other people’s brands and that’s how my skin care and cosmetics companies got started. Loren Jewels is different though, it’s just for fun. Great jewelry for great prices. My girlfriends Eva (Longoria) and Kim (Kardashian) really helped brand the line and they would wear it on the red carpet and they’d tell me I needed to start an actual business and I just thought no, I already have successful businesses I don’t need anything else, but then it just took off. Myfashioncents.com started as kind of a diary and it blew up really fast and became a fun thing to promote. People are always looking to find a way to succeed and it’s not as hard as you expect if you really try and you put some blood, sweat, and tears into it. I don’t think there’s a magic wand when it comes to success, I think you just have to work and try hard and you’ll get there.

I wanted to share this interview I recently did with Beautylogicblog.com .....

What beauty advice can you give us?

Drink plenty of water, protect your skin by using sun block, sleep and don’t pick your pores.

What life advice can you give us (mothers)?

Try to spend as much time as you can with your kids and family.  Enjoy and be present for anything you are doing at the moment, enjoy every second you spend with your kids and make sure to prioritize as family comes first.
