What Are You Willing To Sacrifice For Your Dreams?

So often we speak of the visions we have for our lives.  We have rehearsed to our friends how we long to do this, create that, travel there, become someone here, yet we remain exactly in the same place.  Why is it that we spend so many hours day dreaming, combing through images in our minds, building the fantasy in our heads instead of creating the reality of which we desire to live?  No dream is to big to achieve, but with every dream comes hard work and the inevitable duty of sacrifice.  How many times have we heard, "success comes by hard work and sacrifice?"  Yes, we have heard this statement from our parents, teachers, mentors, loved ones, and sometimes people that we did not ask advice from.  At times, what we do not realize is that hard work and sacrifice are two completely different elements that work together.

Hard work may not be the issue as to why your dreams have not manifested.  Your issue may just be what you feel you can sacrifice.  Sacrifice is a hard pill to swallow.  Sacrifice makes us feel that we exchange one experience for another.  Perception is the master of disguise.  If you can change how you view your sacrifice, you will understand that what you exchange is your past for your now, and your present for your future.  You may sacrifice time, sleep, relationships, all things that are currently important to you but not aiding you in the pursuit of your dreams.  What matters to you?  Do you really desire to live what is currently the desire in your mind?  Listen, if you do not believe that your dream is worth the fight then you do not deserve to have it.  You must decide.

Lauren, this is a great article but what if your dreams are the relationships, what if your life is built around winning others approval.
