With any relationship, nurture is a key priority. With the balancing of careers, family, and friends, there is an inevitable strain that occurs when laying a foundation in a relationship. Couple who live in the same neighborhood, city, or state have a difficult time committing to schedule time. With a long distance relationship, because of the lack of direct physical contact, connection through constant communication must overcompensate for what is not available. Although you may absolutely adore speaking with your potential significant other, it can become quite time consuming as well as mentally and emotionally taxing. For some couples, they literally schedule their lives around chat time, unintentionally placing other priorities on the back burner.
Long distance relationships can work just as couples who live within close proximity to each other. If considering exploring a relationship with someone states away or world's apart, realize that you will need to invest time, and more time. It is not easy to be far from the person you love. Your emotions and your head will have to be able to withstand the distance and be in the right mental space. With diligence and determination, you can have a loving relationship.
